Please note- we are only vaccinating Chandler Hall Residents and Staff. We cannot vaccinate people outside of our community at this time.

We’re very pleased to announce that vaccination of Chandler Hall’s most vulnerable residents and our staff began on January 4th.  The people who have already received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be receiving their second dose on January 25th.

Residents in Personal Care, Independent Living, Llenroc and Memory Care will be vaccinated for the first time on January 28th and will receive their second dose on February 18th. They too will be receiving the Pfizer vaccine.

What to Expect

To date, there have been few negative reactions to the vaccine. Anecdotally, people have been reporting feeling poorly after the second booster dose of the vaccine, usually lasting 24- 48 hours. (You can read more about it here from the CDC.)  This is largely due to the effects of the immune system kicking in and is considered normal. Full immunity takes about two weeks after the second dose of the vaccine.

As you can imagine, the length of time required to get everyone vaccinated and to develop immunity will mean that many of the visiting restrictions we have in place at Chandler Hall will continue until at least the end of February.  We will keep you apprised of any changes in our policies as they become available.
