How Can I Help?

We have three main areas where you can lend a helping hand at Chandler Hall. Click on the button below where you are most interested in volunteering, If you have multiple areas, please click the administrative button.

Administrative

  • Clerical support
  • Filing paperwork
  • Data entry
  • Making phone calls
  • Helping staff with various tasks
  • Help maintenance with handyman tasks on campus
  • Help with gardening or culinary events

Resident Activities

  • Musical performances
  • One-on-One visits to read, chat, play games, etc.
  • Take a walk around the campus
  • Lunch Buddy in the cafeteria
  • Assist at special events
  • Pet Therapy visits

Hospice Volunteers

  • Family caregiver support
    • Visit while a family member runs errands
    • Write down memories or talk about their life
  • Administrative support for the Hospice Program

Volunteer Requirements

  • Minimum age to volunteer is 16 years of age.
  • Minimum of a four (4) month commitment with at least two (2) hours a week suggested.
  • All applicants must fill out an application. Once it is reviewed, you will have a brief interview with the volunteer coordinator to find a proper assignment.
  • Administrative and Resident Activities volunteers will receive a one-on-one orientation prior to their first volunteer assignment.
  • Hospice volunteers need to attend additional training and have more checks performed prior to volunteering.
  • Businesses and Groups can also volunteer and are encouraged.
  • All volunteers 18 years and older are subject to a PA State Criminal Background check.
