The experience was very pleasant. The housing seemed great too. I think it just depends on where the individual is mentally/emotionally to be ok here. Our mom is in between and refuses to do any type of elevators, so our situation is a little different. But would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you for your time in showing us the facilities.

The location was good, the first impression was nice and Pam was very interested in my details, answering all of my questions, giving good food for thought and providing a clear path to moving forward. Excellent non-pushy follow up in a timely manor. She remembers the details, and is friendly and professional at the same time.

From the first day until her last day there, my mother was treated with kindness and respect and given excellent care. She also said the food was great! I need to give an extra special thank you to the physical therapy team. They worked wonders with my mother. I was astounded at how strong she was when we were leaving. She was stronger than she had been BEFORE the fall that caused her to be hospitalized! The PT team also appealed to her interests by offering her yarn and craft supplies; I really appreciated those extra touches. The Social Workers were knowledgeable and helpful and even gave me a pep talk and a hug when I was nervous about bringing my mother home and managing all her care. Afiya was so reassuring and gave several practical suggestions. Chandler Hall was a fabulous experience for my mother and my family.

I was so impressed with the nursing staff here. We were at hospice for ten days to 2 weeks with my dad, and the staff didn’t have it easy with him. They really made the best of it and treated us so well, as we were all devastated by his disease that took him way before he was ready.

In particular, Donna, a nurse who worked with Dad and us, was so thoughtful and genuine. Other nurses were great, too. I don’t have everybody’s name, but the director was also knowledgeable and wonderful. I would recommend Chandler Hall to anyone dealing with the end of life with a loved one.

My mother has not been a resident for long, but so far we have been very happy with her care. She seems to be adjusting to her new home and we feel she is being taken care of in a safe, professional environment. The only improvement that we can suggest is better communication with her family regarding her health care.

As a family dealing with a much loved relative with cognitive problems, we were uncertain on how and where she would most thrive. By immediately responding to our concerns in a supportive manner, Chandler Hall made us confident that they could and would meet her needs in a caring way in a comfortable environment throughout Chandler Hall. Moving her into an apartment that allowed her to bring many of her belongings, including decorating it with her framed needlework, made the transition much easier for her. We know life will change for her, but most importantly we are confident CH will meet her future needs in a compassionate manner. The difficulty we expected for her in such a significant change of lifestyle simply hasn’t occurred. She seems happy already at CH. We hope she will participate in the activities that CH offers and make new friends. We, her family, will always be a big part of her life and have been made to feel welcome. As of now, we will still be seeing her frequently but in a place that is best for her. We have already seen all members of the Staff relating to her in a way that assures us she is in the best of hands. Thank you.

I noticed that the hospice care my friend received was wonderful at Chandler Hall. They came to the home and were probably horrified by what they saw. I know I was, the house was filthy, ash trays overflowing in the bedroom. The home had a terrible smell. I was so happy when I found out she was moved to your facility.

Chandler Hall has a wonderful hospice staff. My husband came home from being in the hospital and I requested home hospice care. Within hours everything for his home care was put into action. After his arrival home, medical staff and family care were available. They were only a call away. That care was 24 hours a day. When my husband passed, within an hour a nurse was at our home arranging everything that was needed. I cannot say enough about the fantastic care given to my husband, me and my family.

This letter is being posted to express my deep appreciation for all of the staff at Chandler Hall. I was so happy with the care and rehabilitation that Dad received at Chandler, after a long hospital stay. Chandler Hall isn’t anything fancy, but I would take the care and kindness they extended to my Dad over anything. As in all rehab/ nursing places, it’s always good to visit regularly, keeping an eye on your loved one. From my personal observation, I only ever saw staff extending smiles, kindness and treated the residents there with respect. Chandler Hall was very clean and the housekeepers were nonstop busy. The food was good and the servers always greeted the residents by their first names, were very pleasant and would joke with the residence and made sure the residence had their usual pickle or chocolate milk! The head nurse and the nursing staff were approachable (which is so important) and were available to answer any questions. Many would take the time to explain things. Which was very comforting. Social services and other services, such as palliative care Drs. and nurses were available on site, as well as a Chaplin and religious services were offered. There were activities offered for residents such as exercises, Bingo, word games and trivia. The therapy department was top notch! The therapists were very friendly, encouraging, and supportive… cheering residence on no matter how small or big the accomplishment. My dad improved greatly and I am very thankful for the care Dad received at Chandler Hall.

Chandler Hall and their staff treated my father with the greatest kindness and respect I could have asked for in his final time with us. They also treated myself and my family with equal empathy, friendship, and caring. I have shared my personal experience with everyone I can.

I had my father in Chandler Hall for the last year of his time with us. The level of caring, kindness, love and respect they provided my father is one for which I am eternally grateful. I would recommend Chandler Hall to anyone who has a loved one in need of advanced care.

A heartfelt thank you for providing the leadership at Chandler Hall in making our mother’s time there so important. She began her residency at Chandler in September 2021. Ann was a resident at Chandler from September through her passing on 1/15/24. We have grieved and mourned the loss of our beloved mother, but the kindness of the employees at the Dining Hall, the Aides, and the Nursing Staff made a difference to our mother and to us as well. She had great personal relationships with Victoria (Charge Nurse), Ignacy Pawloski (floor Nurse), Beverly Gowton (Life Enrichment Director), Ralph Russell, Lorraine Kenderdine (staff) and Ann Bloch (dining room) and numerous others at Chandler. When Mom ate her meals at Chandler, she was often seen with three other residents, and the they were known at the “Golden Girls.”

We always tried to bring home Mom weekly for a family visit. One Sunday, we were away from Chandler for about 8 hours and Mom was very tired when I drove her there. We drove up the driveway at Chandler and my Mom said “Home Sweet Home”.  She said she was so happy to be home at Chandler. This one statement solidified my decision in placing Mom at Chandler. I knew it was the best decision.
