To: Chandler Hall Residents, Families, and Friends

Chandler Hall is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Shaver, RN as the Director of our Home Hospice Program, and Maureen Salvucci, RN as the Director of the Palliative Care Program.

Laura has been with Chandler Hall for the past 4 years and has been active as a provider in Hospice Care. Laura received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from John Tyler University and continued her education to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University. She is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). Laura has served in various hands-on care and administrative roles over the last 4 years. We are proud to announce that Laura has been appointed the Director of the Chandler Hall’s Home Hospice Program.

Chandler Hall currently serves an average of 70 home hospice patients on any given day. While some patients are current residents throughout Chandler Hall’s various levels of care, most of those patients live in the communities surrounding Chandler Hall including Bucks, Montgomery County, and portions of Philadelphia County. Chandler Hall’s goal for the Hospice Home Program is to expand our ability within the local community to meet the needs of up to 100 hospice home patients on any given day.

Maureen Salvucci is also an RN and earned her degree from Bucks County Community College.  She has been a nurse for over 18 years and has been a clinical staff member at Chandler Hall, including the Palliative Care Program, for the past 14 years.  Maureen is the Director of the Palliative Care Program effective immediately. Currently, Chandler Hall provides Palliative Care services to over 100 patients at any given time. Our goal is to increase our services to the communities surrounding Chandler Hall and increase our daily census to 125 patients.

“The present-day hospice is a PROGRAM rather than a place, an attitude expressed in growing expertise …”
– Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the Hospice Movement

Chandler Hall is proud to be one of the earliest Hospice Programs established in the United States and for the past 40 years has provided end-of-life care to thousands of patients as well as for their families.
